Fix not being able to share your screen in Teams
Screen sharing problems in Teams are nearly always a Windows permission or a Teams hiccup, not a broken setup.
Update and restart Teams
Make sure Teams is up to date, then fully quit it (icon by the clock → Quit) and reopen it.
Allow screen recording permission
On Windows 11, Settings → Privacy & security → ensure Teams is allowed. On managed PCs this may be set for you.
Use the desktop app, not the browser
Screen sharing is more reliable in the Teams desktop app than in a web browser — join from the app if you can.
Share a window instead of the full screen
If the whole screen won't share, try sharing just the specific window (e.g. PowerPoint) from the share tray.
Rejoin the meeting
Leave and rejoin the call to reset the connection, then try sharing again.
Still not working?
If sharing is still blocked, your organisation's Teams policy may restrict it — we can check and adjust that for you.
